Funding Opportunities 

Funding may be available to support your training programme. Computeraid has compiled a list of some organisations that might be able to help you to make a contribution towards your training requirements depending on your circumstances.  There are funding options for companies on short time working, people facing redundancy, Graduates working for SMEs in Wales or people with level 2 qualifications or lower.  We also have a great special offer for people who book five or more places on scheduled courses.

 ProAct Funding – Help for companies on short time working
The ProAct scheme provides funding for employers who are facing difficulties during the recession. 
  • ProAct aims to help businesses prepare for economic recovery by up-skilling staff on short-time working and retaining skilled workers who may otherwise be made redundant.
  • Individuals can receive up to £2,000 of funding per head for training and a wage subsidy of £2,000 each. 
  • This scheme is currently available to the automotive sector with a view to extending this to other private sector companies.
 ReAct Funding – Help for people facing redundancy
Are you about to be made redundant or have you been made redundant in the last six months? ReAct the redundancy action fund can help! 
  • ReAct is a package of support to help you gain new skills, overcome obstacles and improve your chances of returning to work following redundancy. 
  • The ReAct fund can contribute up to £2,500 towards the cost of vocational training courses.

 Graduate Opportunities Wales – Help for graduates
Graduates working for Small to Medium sized Enterprises in Wales may be able to access funding to put towards training.
  • GO Wales can offer small to medium-sized businesses in Wales up to £1,500 towards the cost of training graduate staff members.

Individual Learning Accounts Wales – Help for people with level 2 qualifications or below 
The scheme is very simple and depending upon the cost of the course and your personal circumstances, ILA Wales could give you between £100-£200. It’s not a loan so the money you receive doesn’t have to be paid back! 

To be eligible for an Individual Learning Account (ILA) Wales
  • you must be aged 18 or over and be living in Wales
  • you or your partner must be claiming income related benefit; or
  • you must have qualifications equal to NQF (National Qualification Framework) level 2 or below.
