Skills for Industry 2
Inspire and motivate your staff with funded accredited ICT training.
Flexible, tailored training
Skills for Industry 2, led by Gower College Swansea, has been set up to ensure that businesses in south west Wales have the skill set to adapt and embrace change to help them thrive, prosper and grow.
The business benefits
Your organisation will stand or fall on the skills of your staff. We are here to help you hone their skills, so that they are equipped to identify new market opportunities, able to recognise change as an opportunity - not a threat, and have the knowledge to drive through sustained business growth. Our ICT courses target those staff with low or no qualifications and are geared to helping them train up to Level 2.
What courses are available?
Skills for Industry will provide a wide range of short, accredited ICT courses in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Sage Accounts and Social Media. All courses lead to a nationally recognized qualification. Depending on your requirements staff can be trained at our site or at yours. Talk to us about arranging a flexible tailored training plan.
Skills for Industry also offers a fully funded Microsoft Office Essentials 10 day training course that provides businesses with the necessary fundamental skills in ICT to improve business performance. Topics on this course cover getting started with your PC, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet and Email Skills and Social Media. This course can lead to a nationally recognized qualification—Essential Digital Literacy Skills level 1.
What support will you get?
The European Social Fund has allowed us to subsidise the courses, which makes it financially viable for all ambitious businesses - large and small - to invest in training. With our support, staff skills can become the driver for increased productivity and the sustained growth of your business. But as well as the financial support, you can also count on us to oversee the management and implement the courses, to provide all the expert advice you'll need.
Although Skills for Industry has been set up to help you significantly reduce your training costs, we will still be asking you to undertake a financial commitment. You will be required to contribute a percentage of the cost of the training depending on the size of your business, 30% for small businesses, 40% for medium sized businesses and 50% for large businesses.
Essential Skills Training
With the support of the European Social Fund, SFI can deliver essential skills activity at no cost to your business.
