Learn how to protect your valuable information from viruses, fraud and theft. This is an interactive course with lots of case studies and opportunities for guided discussion.
At the end of the course the delegate will be able to define IT Security, understand the need for keeping their business data secure, assess the risks for their own business, identify real-life security problems and develop a strategy to prevent such problems having a negative impact on their business. Delegates will also be able to identify sources of help and advice on this topic.
This is a one-day course running from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Training is hands-on and tutor-led.
We provide a comprehensive training manual, lunch and certification.
Courses run at both Swansea and Cardiff locations.
This course can be run as a company specific option either at your site or our own.

Course Content
System Performance Security
Understand the implications of unwanted messages,
malicious programs, infiltration and hoaxes. Develop
a strategy to protect your PC from these threats.Information Security
Understand the importance of developing strong
passwords to prevent unauthorised access to data;
confidentiality concerns and protect your self from
identity theft.Technology Security
Understand how information is transferred via
networks. Identify secure networks. Understand
Bluetooth connectivity and manage Bluetooth
settings. Be aware of the security responsibilities
associated with portable devices such as laptops and ipads.Guidelines and Procedures
Identify relevant guidelines and procedures within
your organisation covering IT security and privacy.Data Security
Understand the importance of keeping your data
secure both electronically and physically.
Understand the importance of back-ups and storing
your data safely.Prerequisites
You will have access to a PC for the entirety of the course so basic keyboard and mouse familiarity would be useful but is not essential.
Qualification
This course covers material from the European Computer Driving Licence syllabus and contributes to an ITQ qualification.
