This  course is designed to equip the new user with a full understanding of the functions and features of Microsoft PowerPoint.  Users will be taken step-by-step through the process of creating a slideshow and presentation material.  Features covered include text input and editing and use of text proofing tools.  We will cover creating/editing drawings and importing graphics, creating graphs and setting up a slideshow (with special effects).  The course demonstrates printing slides and handouts.

Getting Started

The PowerPoint screen – ribbons, toolbars, scroll bar, menus, viewing modes.

Masters & Templates

Understanding and changing PowerPoint Master slide layouts and selecting/modifying Templates (colour schemes/designs, themes, etc.).

Adding Text

Adding text to a slide, selecting objects and formatting text.

Bullets

Using bulleted lists in a presentation.

 Drawing Tools/Clipart

Using PowerPoint’s drawing facilities to enhance a slide and adding pre-drawn pictures (ClipArt).

Charting

Creating and modifying graphs (charts) to illustrate data.

Text Editing

Improving the appearance of text in a slide and use of Microsoft’s ‘WordArt’ feature.

Utilities

Using spell check and find and replace facilities.

Slide Shows / Printing

Setting up a slide show with a variety of special effects and examining PowerPoint’s print options.

 

Introduction to PowerPoint- Online Course Details

This is a one-day introductory course running from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm.

Prerequisites

To gain the maximum benefit from this course an attendee should have a basic knowledge of Windows and be able to use the mouse.

Online Course

This course is delivered live online. Course delegates will need a reliable internet connection and a PC or laptop with audio and video capability with the relevant software installed for the training.  Delegates see, hear and interact with the tutor.

Qualification

This course covers material from the standard International Certificate of Digital Literacy (Module 6) and the Microsoft Office Specialist Core PowerPoint syllabus.
