Course Overview

A comprehensive hands-on, tutor-led overview of One Drive and Office Online

OneDrive is Microsoft's service for hosting files in the ''cloud''. It is available for free to all owners of a Microsoft account. OneDrive offers users a simple way to store, sync and share all kinds of files, with other people and devices on the Web.

Microsoft Office 365 gives you access to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and more.

The course is designed for delegates who have no prior knowledge of OneDrive or Office 365 apps.

Delegates will be shown how to access OneDrive and Office 365, understand how to work collaboratively with Office 365 through OneDrive, and to gain a basic understanding of the capabilities of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

This is a two-day course running from 9:30 am - 4:00 pm.
Training is hands-on and tutor-led.
We provide a comprehensive training manual, lunch and certification.
Courses run at both Swansea and Cardiff locations.
This course can be run as a company specific option either at your site or our own.

  • Course Content


    An introduction to Office 365 and OneDrive. Screen overview and how to access the applications. Setting up a One Drive account and an email address.

    Working with OneDrive

    Advantages and limitations, accessing OneDrive on your PC and online, OneDrive views, navigating OneDrive and uploading documents. Saving new files to OneDrive, creating and naming new files.

    Working with Folders

    Creating and naming folders and subfolders. Organising content in OneDrive folder. Folder views and sorting files. Moving and copying files. Deleting and restoring files, searching for files, Recognising sync icons. Sharing files

    Microsoft Office Online Apps

    What is Office 365, using the Office 365 Apps, Connecting Microsoft Office to OneDrive, creating new files. Saving to OneDrive, sharing documents with OneDrive, opening existing files using Office 365.

    Using Office Online

    Getting started with Office Online business applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Prerequisites

    To gain the maximum benefit from this course an attendee should have a basic knowledge of Windows and be able to use the mouse.

  • Qualification

    This course covers material from the European Computer Driving Licence and contributes towards an ITQ level 1 and 2 qualification.

  • Build on the knowledge gained to achieve an ITQ award.
