SharePoint- Course Objectives

We have two SharePoint courses to improve your skills.  SharePoint Introduction and SharePoint Advanced.

SharePoint Introduction is designed for delegates who have no prior knowledge of SharePoint.  Delegates will be shown how to access SharePoint from a browser or from Office, how to use SharePoint to collaborate within a team, organise and manage documents, events, lists and other items.  Delegates will learn how to search for information in a portal site. Delegates should be familiar with basic file management and creating and saving documents in an office package such as Word or Excel.

SharePoint Advanced is designed to show you the advanced tools of Microsoft SharePoint Online. The focus is on customising and modifying apps to collaborate with a team with stronger emphasis on business needs and content. You will edit various types of web pages to arrange information and ensure it meets business processes and compliance.

SharePoint Introduction- Course Contents

Introduction

An introduction to SharePoint. Opening, navigating and searching SharePoint sites

Document Management     

Introduction to document libraries and lists. Using Check-in/Check-out. Viewing and editing document properties and version histories

Folder Management

Creating,  viewing and deleting folders. Moving items into folders

Recycle Bin

Accessing, deleting and recovering items from the Recycle Bin

Using SharePoint with Outlook

Creating and adding alerts to Outlook

Basic Office Tasks

Opening a document pane, publishing a file to a workspace

Managing list and libraries

Creating, enabling and managing lists and libraries. Exporting list data to a spreadsheet. Using column sorting and filtering. List and Library views

Users and groups

Managing users and groups. Recognising permissions in SharePoint

Prerequisites

To gain the maximum benefit from this course an attendee should have a basic knowledge of Windows and be able to use the mouse.

Connect to MS Office

Principals of using Office with SharePoint. Export data from SharePoint to Excel. Synchronise data between Excel and SharePoint.

Pictures

Adding Web media. Hyperlinks. Hyperlinks to an email address. Web part pages. Web parts

Workflows
